Less than a month after they made their first red carpet appearance together, Hayden Panettiere and former NFL player Scotty McKnight have called it quits, reports TMZ.

Apparently the pair broke up a few weeks ago, but, in true celeb fashion, they claim to be “really good friends” still. A sleuthy insider predicts they’ll “probably be back together sometime down the road.”

The Nashville star and former New York Jets wide receiver (he was waived in August) started dating around June 2011. Right before that, Panettiere was mistakenly linked to his teammate and childhood pal, Mark Sanchez.
