Awesomely Weird Style Inspiration: Beetlejuice

(Imax Tree, Tanya Leigh Washington)We love when style ideas come from unexpected sources. The latest odd trend we've spotted? Striped pants and suits a la Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. It turns out Michael Keaton's character from the 1988 comedy horror film is alive again—and actually quite stylish without all that pasty makeup.

First, we were introduced to the look at Alice + Olivia's Fall 2012 collection with Ms. Bendet's green and black striped velvet suit.

(Imax Tree)One of our all-time favorite street stylers, editor Taylor Tomasi Hill, then made a Fashion Week appearance in a pair of Celine's leg-lengthening trousers.

(Imax Tree)It turns out Fergie was ahead of the trend in her striped denim, and even Miley Cyrus has been seen sporting the graphic trend. We can't wait to see what unusual style icon Fall 2013 Fashion Week brings into focus. Maybe Johnny Depp's Edward Scissorhands? Anyone but Chucky, please.

Diane Kruger's Floral Stella Pants

If anyone else slipped on a vest and floral trousers we might be less impressed, but the actress brings an intangible charm to all of her outfits. Or perhaps, we just like that she can so comfortably transition from a gold sequined Vivienne Westwood gown to a boyish ensemble like this one.

For yesterday's Der Naechste, Bitte! photocall in Berlin, she paired her Stella McCartney gray scale pants with pointy black pumps and a white wristwatch.
